Creating Chapters in PDF Book

This technique should be used when breaking PDFs down for conversion purposes. It’s a streamlined technique that will save quite a bit of time.

  1. First make a copy to work on.
  2. Then crop, as Robert said.Use your table of contents to know which pages to go to. Please note: If the front matter is separately numbered in the PDF file, extract it first.
  3. Then start at the back of the book.
  4. Go to the first page of the last chapter.
  5. Go to Tools > Pages > Extract.
  6. The “from field” will always enter the page that you are on. In the “to field,” you can enter the page after the “of x” (because the x is the last page of the book).
  7. Delete the pages after extraction.
